10 Habits that Transformed my "healthy" life

1) Workout : Incorporating your favorite hobby as your workout. It could be yoga or swimming, strength Training, a walk or a run...etc. At first when I would think of a workout the image of a gym would automatically pop up. Workout basically means a form of movement and it could be anything. Since the past 3 months I have tried to incorporate yoga and walking as a part of my routine and it doesn't really feel like a burden. I rather enjoy it and take creative initiatives to keep it interesting.

One doesn't have to follow the in trend workout or follow influencers. You need to do a workout which suits you and keeps you motivated and just kinda tells your mind "Oh...this is fun to do."

2) Eat Well : Eating well or healthy doesn't mean that you kill yourself with salads and steamed veggies or just eat out of a bag of chips. You need to eat well for the right reasons and your goal shouldn't be losing weight or gaining weight (looking a certain way). Remember it is moreover for the functions of the body and your brain. If you don't eat well, you will not be able to get through the day. You will be grumpy or angry or be irritated. So eat stuff which is fresh and which belongs to your traditions. It will keep you happy. Whatever you are gonna do its for yourself & don't compare things that cannot be compared. Eat less from packets and more from your kitchens. A desert item like an ice-cream or a pastry is good once a while. You shouldn't deprive yourself of anything.

3) Gratitude Journal: Buy yourself a diary and maintain all the reasons, everyday of your life as to why you are grateful for everything you have. Focus your attention on the positive things in your life. Positive fact you have a positive mood, optimistic thoughts and better sleep. You either fill it right before you sleep or at time you wake up. You can go from I am grateful that I have water to drink. Then you put down five reasons as to why you are grateful for it.

4) Hobby: Something to keep you busy in your leisure time. To give you an escape from your reality. It could be anything ranging from reading to gardening to dancing or even watching Netflix.

5) Sleep: Sleep is an important part of our daily routine. Getting quality sleep at the right time is as essential to survival as food and water. It let's you learn and create new memories and better concentration. Having a fixed bedtime and wake up time sets your body into its natural alarm clock. You could even take a nap between your day to function better and feel refreshed.

6) Being Outside in Nature: We are a part of the environment, the environment is not a part of us. Being in nature or even viewing scenes either by going out in the day or just throwing your head out of the window. Viewing the sky for 10 mins or staring at the magic of leaves on trees would reduce a lot of anxiety, stress, heart rate, blood pressure and muscle tension.

It lifts your mood and is good for your mental health.

7) Being Productive: Having a routine which is same but yet something new everyday gives a sense of living. It's a drop of discipline that makes us more efficient and creates structure in our lives. It gives you a sense of control and makes self care more enjoyable.

8) Listening to Podcasts : I first started listening to podcasts about four years ago, and since then they’ve become an integral part of my daily routine. I listen while I’m traveling, commuting, working, cooking, cleaning, and sometimes even while I’m showering.

9) Dress Up : Since the lockdown I have been seeing myself either in pajamas' or sweat pants. Though having a routine and getting ready in the morning as if I were to go out, it seems refreshing and gives one the feeling of doing something new everyday.

10) Give yourself credit: Giving yourself credit or a treat from time to time is very important. It's a sense of celebration that you know how far you've come.
